Google-owned Nest today said it’s acquired San Francisco-based Dropcam, the makers of home monitoring cameras. In a blog post, Nest founder and head of engineering Matt Rogers said that it will be taking over customer support for Dropcam’s products, and that it would be treating its video data just like it does with the data it’s gathering from its own products. “Many of you already own Dropcam products and have asked if we could make them work with Nest. Today, we’re one step closer to making that happen,” Rogers added.
