Every week, Odell Beckham Jr. seems to make a more ridiculous grab, each more wild than the next. This one, however, was truly ridiculous, the kind that will live on for years, if not decades.
On the first play of the second quarter, Eli Manning heaved a long throw to Beckham along the right sideline. Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr pulled on his right arm, slowing him a half step or so. The throw was well over Beckham’s head, so he dove backwards, extended his right arm and somehow controlled the ball with just a few fingers on that right hand. He did it all despite having limited sight of the ball, and fell into the end zone for a 43-yard touchdown grab. It was also his second TD catch of the game as the Giants lead 14-10 midway through the second quarter.
Only a picture and video does it any real justice.
You can see the ball dance on his fingertips as he falls. There are no words. Carr was flagged for pass interference — he was all over Beckham — but it obviously didn’t matter.
It was one of those plays so incredible that it immediately lit up Twitter. LeBron James, Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman and teammate Victor Cruz all had heavy praise. NBC color commentator Cris Collinsworth said it may have been the best catch he had ever seen, and that is not just hyperbole.
What is normal? I wish I knew. I am on a never ending journey to find the true meaning of normal. I seek it at home, at work, and at play. The world seems to be a weird and strange place, with abnormal as the new normal. But here, we set the rules. We determine what is and isn't normal. We can add our 2-cents on any or every topic. Come join us on our journey. We can have a lot of fun looking at the world differently.
Jan 19, 2015 0Summary: This watch is what I refer to as a concept watch. I use that term to describe the watch as you would use the terms dress, sport, or diver. I think it is a very exclusive category and there are not that many watches that fall into the category of concept. I’m undecided if […]
Mar 29, 2015 0Indiana is in the middle of a well deserved firestorm this week for their incredibly shitty Senate Bill 101, otherwise known as the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, and otherwise known as the “Turn Away The Gays” bill. Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, who must realize he is basically...
